The scientific achievements of the CGC mirror the high value of the joint initiative for both the research groups and the industrial partners. Two CGC funding periods were completed and the third one is still ongoing, it is now in its fiftth year. So far, a total of 96 unique research projects have been running and 210 papers have been published. The scientific research performed has resulted in the filing of 7 patent applications and the creation of 10 new bilateral projects in collaboration with the industrial partners. Eight of the bilateral projects have been also transferred to CGC industrial partners. Furthermore, the CGC Group Leaders have raised more than additional 19 mio Euros in funding from public and private sources for a total of 32 grants. Notably,  Tom Grossmann and Malte Gersch competed successfully for the Emmy Noether Grant. Moreover, Luc Brunsveld, Yaowen Wu, Tom Grossmann, and Peter ‘t Hart were awarded the highly recognized ERC Starting Grant funding. In addition, Yaowen Wu was also selected as young Academy Fellow by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. As a testimony to their scientific innovation, track record, and authority, the 9 CGC Group Leaders, who already completed their terms at the CGC, were appointed to Full Professorships in European academic institutions and 1 is Chief Science Officer in a Biomedical Company. The training of over 195 MSc, PhD students, and PostDoc researchers is also a significant positive outcome from CGC.
